Smitherman Resigns; Replacement Search To Begin

The search is on for a new leader for Elwood Community Schools. Former district superintendent Casey Smitherman resigned her position Friday. Smitherman had turned herself in on allegations of insurance fraud after seeking medical attention for a student under an assumed name using her insurance to pay for it.
