Democrat Pete Buttigieg, the 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has announced that he is forming an exploratory committee for a 2020 presidential bid. If he were to win the Democratic nomination, Buttigieg would be the first openly gay presidential nominee from a major political party.
