A man has been cuffed on charges he tried to shoot and kill a Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputy during a standoff back in January. 23 year old Shane Shumate, formerly of Eaton, had been involved in a domestic dispute that led to police arriving. Police say Shumate came out of the home armed and refused to drop his weapon, instead aiming it at a deputy. That officer shot Shumate in the leg and foot.
