Re-Trial Set For December 18

A re-trial is planned after a jury couldn’t reach a verdict in the trial of a man charged in the death of a man found stabbed on a Richmond sidewalk. A December 18 trial date has been set for James Dean Childers in the January 2017 death of Austin Sparks. Authorities say Childers and Sparks had been in a confrontation shortly before Sparks was found stabbed near a tavern.
