MadCo Judges Have A Plan Of Their Own

Madison County judges have adopted two rules in an effort to reduce the number of inmates being housed in local correctional facilities.  Effective immediately, people in the jail on a probation violation for more than 14 days will appear before a criminal magistrate. And, criminal magistrates would be assigned people incarcerated on a Level 6 felony charge for 30 days or more. This comes after the county council decided to hire a case manager to track court cases, a move that the Madison County judges do not support.
