Woman Dies After Being Struck By Train

A train and a car collided in Ingalls Wednesday night resulting in the death of an Indianapolis woman. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened around 8:45 pm at N. Alfonte Street and SR 67. The woman drove around the railroad crossing arm when she got stuck on the tracks and was hit by the train. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the 30-year-old victim has not been released.
