The Sears store in Muncie is on the hit list, named as one of 72 stores the chain is closing to deal with mounting red tape. The store is set to close in early September and liquidation sales will begin June 14th. The shutdown leaves the Muncie Mall without another of its anchor stores as Carson’s was announced for closure in April. The Sears Auto Center at the Muncie store will terminate operations in late July.
