Authorities say police in Muncie shot and wounded a man who set a home on fire during a domestic dispute and pointed a gun at officers who responded. Officers and firefighters responded early Friday and 56 year old Gary Dale Mort’s girlfriend reported he was still inside the home where they lived. Officers tried to get inside, but the smoke was too thick. As firefighters arrived, police say the man came around the side of the home with a gun.
Police say officers told the man to drop the gun, but he refused. Officers shot him and he was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
