SPECIAL REPORT: PRIMARY 2018

Today is Primary Election Day in Indiana, with vote centers open until 6 p.m. for registered voters to cast their ballots.

Delaware County’s only countywide race is the Democratic Party primary for sheriff, with incumbent Sheriff Ray Dudley facing challenger Charlie Richmond, the county’s chief deputy auditor.

Among legislative races: George Holland, Jeannie Lee Lake, K. (Jasen) Lave, Jim Pruett, Lane Siekman and Joshua Williamson are competing for the seat of retiring State Sen. Doug Eckerty.

For State Senate, District 26: Democrats Mike Gaskill faces Steffanie Owens. For the Republicans, it’s Dave Cravens and Dave Ring.

For the State Senate, District 25 race, Tamala Dixon-Tatum challenges Tim Lanane.

Young Republicans Jenae Horn Blasdel and John (J.D.) Prescott are hoping for the GOP nomination for District 33 state representative.

In the race for Indiana’s Sixth Congressional District are Mike Campbell, Jonathan Lamb, Stephen Mackenzie, Jeff Smith and Greg Pence.

On the ballot in Madison County:

Hoping for the seat for U.S. Representative 5th District are Dion Douglas, Sean Dugdale, Eshel Faraggi, Kyle Moore and Dee Thornton.

For State Senator District 25, Tim Lanane faces challenger Tamie Dixon-Tatum.

For State Senator District 26, Dave Cravens and Dave Ring

For State Representative District 36, Terri Austin faces challenger Rebecca Crumes

In the race for County Council, District 1 are Jerry Alexander, Brandon Sanders and Megan Stoner.

In the race for Indiana’s Sixth Congressional District are Mike Campbell, Jonathan Lamb, Stephen Mackenzie, Jeff Smith and Greg Pence.

Without a doubt, the Republican race for the Senate is the most closely watched—and contentious—of state races. Rep. Todd Rokita, Rep. Luke Messer and former State Rep. Mike Braun are vying for the GOP nomination. The winner will challenge Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly in the November general election.
