He was a backseat passenger in a car that was pulled over for speeding along I-70 near New Castle. An Indiana State Trooper stopped the car and checked on its three occupants. The trooper discovered the man in the back seat was wanted on two warrants; one a felony. 23-year-old Mason Bean, of Lafayette, was wanted for Battery to a Person under Fourteen, Neglect of a Dependent and possession of a Controlled Substance. When arrested, Bean had a fully loaded 9mm handgun without a license to carry.
