He couldn’t live with the guilt. After nearly a decade, a former Daleville resident has confessed that he committed a brutal slaying in 2008. 51-year-old Dana Ray Zirkel is now charged with the murder of 49-year-old Michael Patterson – a maintenance supervisor at Mounds State Park in Anderson. Police believe Patterson was attacked when he walked in on a home invasion burglary.
