It’s a helping hand for Anderson teachers: Forty grants totaling more than 40-thousand dollars have been awarded through the annual Mayor’s Charity Ball. When Mayor Thomas Broderick Jr. took office in 2016, he directed that the proceeds go to local educators through a grant program. Teachers submit applications for up to $2,000. Broderick and a committee select the programs to be funded.
