The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a 4 month-old infant near Alexandria. Madison County Sheriff Scott Mellinger says there were trace amounts of narcotics in the baby’s system. While waiting for toxicology reports, authorities are trying to determine if negligence was a factor in the infant’s death.
