Towns Considering “Extreme Weather” Ordinance

The extreme cold this winter has inspired two Madison County communities to explore the possibility of ordinances that protect pets. According to the Herald Bulletin, The City of Elwood’s Common Council and the Alexandria City Council are discussing the possibility of an ordinance modeled after one passed last year by the City-County Council in Indianapolis. The ordinance is expected to be brought back before the council for discussion and a possible vote in March.
