Public Safety Tax A Pay Day For Some Agencies, Not Others

Better for some than others. A local public safety income tax enacted in 2015 is bringing in an estimated $5 million dollars annually to local police agencies. Muncie gets about $2.8 million, Delaware County just under $2 million. By comparison, the city of Selma receives just over $10,000 a year. Volunteer fire departments say they’ve seen none of the money.
