House Passes Bill To Have BSU Take Over MCS

A bill that could have Ball State take over guidance of Muncie Community Schools, passed in the House Thursday. The bill passed 65-26 and now heads to the Senate. Right now a private emergency management firm runs the district. The bill also requires the state to analyze the financial conditions of all Indiana school corporations to identify those showing fiscal distress. Those schools could obtain technical assistance from the state.
