State Board Vote Hands MCS Control To Emergency Manager

A state board has given an emergency manager full control of Muncie Community Schools. Members of Indiana’s Distressed Unit Appeal Board acknowledged during a Wednesday meeting in Indianapolis that MCS has made financial progress. But board members found that progress insufficient and voted to give the district’s state-appointed emergency manager full control over its finances and academics.
