A former chief of the Anderson Police Department and member of the Madison County Council has declared his candidacy for the Republican Party nomination for sheriff. The Herald Bulletin reports that 57-year-old Larry Crenshaw was first elected to an at-large seat on the County Council in 2004, winning re-election in 2008.
