With Scott Pelath stepping down as the Democratic minority leader in the Indiana House, it doesn’t appear that anyone from Madison County will be seeking the post. Pelath’s weekend announcement was a surprise to some local legislators. Rep. Terri Austin, D-Anderson, says that she will not be seeking the leadership post. Currently Austin is the Democratic whip in the Indiana House.
