Clean Up Continues Here After EF-2 Tornado

People in Jay and Blackford counties continue to clean up after the storms.

On Monday, the NWS sent survey teams to Jay County to assess damages. They believe an EF-2 tornado destroyed a single-family home west of Portland. The family was able to get to cover before the tornado hit.

A team of assessors in Muncie Monday confirmed that a brief EF-1 tornado left a wake of damage through the downtown area, the McKinley neighborhood and western parts of the city. Muncie and Delaware County officials have declared a state of disaster.  The declaration is a first step in securing state and federal disaster relief funds.
