The Madison County Council is seeking a 5 percent across the board reduction in submitted 2018 budgets. Several elected officials and department heads say the only way to make those cuts is to chop the number of employees. The adjusted cuts are to be submitted to the auditor’s office by Wednesday. The council will meet Oct. 3 to review the proposed changes.
