A New Castle man has been charged with attempted murder after police say he allegedly choked an acquaintance with a cell phone cord. 29-year old Christopher Brinker now faces charges in connection with the Tuesday attack. Police say Brinker attacked the man in a home on S. 20th Street. The victim, an unidentified 40-year old man, was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was being treated for “possible brain injuries due to the lack of oxygen to the brain.” Brinker’s trial date is set for January 22nd.
