Many states are taking a new look at juvenile life without parole following a U.S. Supreme Court decision. But that ruling appears to have little impact in Indiana. The state allows judges to sentence those over 16 to life without parole for a murder conviction. But Larry Landis, of the Indiana Public Defenders Council, says he can’t think of an instance where such a sentence was imposed. Indiana officials say no one in state prison was sentenced to life without parole as a juvenile.
