An inmate has died at the Howard County Jail, and State Police are investigating. 37-year-old James Patterson was found unresponsive in a holding area early Tuesday. Jail staff and medics tried to revive him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the jail by county coroner Jay Price. The cause of his death has not been determined.
