“Worst Flooding Since 2003”

Howard County residents are calling Tuesday’s flooding the worst since 2003. Dispatchers reported dozens of roads were closed. Cars were trapped in high waters, and boats were dispatched in some cases. The flooding closed at least 20 roads, several of which were main arteries, which meant long detours for drivers. As of last night, all the roads in the county were back open except two in the City of Kokomo. And the flooding wasn’t limited to homes. One of the Ivy Tech Community College main buildings had between six and eight inches of water throughout the hallways. Classes are cancelled today. Ivy Tech plans to resume classes on Thursday.
