A Muncie man is headed for the Marion County Jail, then to trial early next year to be tried for murder. 27 year old Matize Kirkland faces homicide and auto theft charges, plus a weapons count in connection with the October 2014 killing of a man. Police say Kirkland lured 23-year-old Jeremy Johnson to an abandoned house on Indianapolis’ east side and then shot him to death. The victim’s body was found in a wooded area last June.
