A state panel has appointed a consulting firm consisting of retired Indiana school administrators and teachers as the emergency manager of the financially troubled Muncie Community Schools.
The Distressed Unit Appeal Board on Monday appointed the firm Administrator Assistance on Monday. Administrator Assistance’s team would include Stephen Edwards, a former assistant Muncie school superintendent. Edwards was elected to a seat on the district’s board beginning next year but has said he would resign from the board if his firm were selected.
