School Closings, Student Shuffling Under Proposed Plan

Four schools within Muncie Community Schools would close under a plan announced by Superintendent Steven Baule. Among those on the list, Northside Middle School along with Storer, Mitchell and Sutton elementary schools. Under the blueprint, according to the Star Press, Northside students would attend Southside Middle School, Storer students would go to West View Elementary, and Mitchell students apparently would attend North View Elementary. Also, Baule wants to close the Muncie Area Career Center but to keep its programming going at Ivy Tech Community College and maybe Central High School.
