Deer Crashes/Harvest Numbers Down

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says the state’s deer harvest fell last year, as did the number of deer struck by motor vehicles. The agency says deer-vehicle collisions across Indiana numbered more than 14,000 last year, down nearly 9 percent from 2015. The deer harvest by hunters was down 4 percent from 2015 of nearly 124,800 deer.
