The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has more than a dozen active arrest warrants against inmates who left their work release program and never returned. Some of the warrants were issued as recently as last week. The oldest open warrant is for Nirmal Thakur, who pleaded guilty in 2011 to one count of arson. He was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by four years in Hamilton County.
