One person was killed in an accident near Pendleton Saturday afternoon. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports a white SUV appeared to have been traveling too fast around a curve when it left State Road 38 traveled several hundred feet and hit a cement abutment. Witnesses told police they saw the vehicle become airborne before it landed on its top on the south side of State Road 38, just west of I-69. Emergency responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The victim’s name has not been released.
