A new metering system that eventually will allow customers to pay-as-you-go is being implemented by Richmond Power & Light. The Automated Metering Infrastructure system is being provided by Tantalus Systems of Raleigh, N.C., through a multi-year contract, paying nearly 700-thousand-dollars this year. The system is being developed in phases to keep costs lower for RP&L.
