The city of Anderson is starting the process to find a new source of water for the Wheeler Avenue plant as part of the 47 percent water rate hike approved in 2015. The Anderson Board of Public Works has approved a $240,000 contract with Curry & Associates to conduct a hydrological study of new sources of drinking water. Neal McKee, director of the Water Department, tells the Herald Bulletin that the wells are past their useful life.
