Sen. Dan Coats reflected on his career as the outgoing Indiana senator addressed his fellow lawmakers Tuesday. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell discussed Coats’ career on the Senate Floor earlier Tuesday, saying the Senate would miss Coats and thanking him for his many years of service. Coats served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1981 through 1989 before being appointed to the Senate to replace Dan Quayle, who’d been elected vice president.
