Authorities identify the man who plowed his car into a group of pedestrians and stabbed people with a butcher knife on the Ohio State University campus. Abdul Razak Ali Artan was a student at the school. He was a permanent US resident, born in Somalia. 11 people were injured before Artan was shot dead by an officer.
Just three minutes before the first 9-1-1 call, Abdul Razak Ali Artan posted a message to Facebook, according to law enforcement officials, that says: “I can’t take it anymore. America, stop interfering with other countries, especially the Muslim Ummah [Arabic translation: community]. We are not weak. We are not weak. Remember that.” Authorities say Artan acted alone.
The Department of Public Safety Director says the officer who confronted Artan just a minute after the attack began, did a “fabulous job.” 28-year-old Officer Alan Horujko started on the force in January of last year.
