Muncie Chief of Police Resigns

The chief of police in Muncie has resigned. Steve Stewart told the Star Press he resigned Monday morning. He had been butting heads of late with Mayor Dennis Tyler about an investigation he wanted Steward to conduct, but Stewart refused under grounds that it would duplicate efforts already underway by the FBI into wrongdoing in city government. Stewart told the Star Press to reach out to Mayor Tyler about the contents of Stewart’s resignation letter.
