It’s an opportunity for local veterans and their families to get the help they deserve. Madison County Veterans Stand Down will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Salvation Army on Meridian Street in Anderson. Active service members and their families who are homeless, near homeless, unemployed, underemployed or just in need of assistance can receive everything from food and haircuts, to employment opportunities and Social Security benefit counseling.
