Council Asked For $1 Million For “Extra” Pay Day

The Anderson City Council is being asked to approve an additional $1 million to cover an extra pay period for the year.  Mayor Thomas Broderick Jr. says the Smith administration did not budget for a 27th pay period. He explained the extra pay was distributed on Dec. 31, but the money was not appropriated in the 2016 budget. The city controller is asking council approval on Thursday to provide the funding for the additional pay period.
