Health Center To Settle Federal Lawsuit

The Madison County Community Health Center will pay $190,000 to settle a federal lawsuit. The agreement ends a three-year civil whistleblower lawsuit filed by a former doctor who alleged that the center’s quest for federal and state funds had turned it into a “pill mill.” As part of the settlement, the health center denied any wrongdoing.
