Transgender students protected in schools

Indiana schools got word today from the Obama Administration that all public schools should treat all transgender students based on their gender identity including in restroom and locker room policies or possibly lose federal education funding. The administration says the Civil Rights act protects transgender students from discrimination. The state superintendent praised the ruling, saying it was the state’s desire to make schools safe and welcoming for all students.
