Teen’s killer gets hearing for new trial motion

The man convicted of killing a Yorktown High School student a decade ago is getting a hearing to ask for a new trial. 30-year-old Jermaine Drake was sentenced to 55 years in the death of 18-year-old Christopher Masiongale. At the trial, testimony indicated that Drake thought the victim was selling his DVD player that had been stolen from his car. Drake’s hearing on the new trial motion is July 28th.
