The Alexandria City Council has voted to initiate an investigation into the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer for late or missed city payments. The Herald Bulletin reports that the investigation stems from several months of missed sewer bond payments totaling more than $120,000. Clerk-Treasurer Jan Lynch says she told city officials several times that the sewer account did not have enough money to cover the payments.
