Delaware County authorities filed a lawsuit to keep more than $220,000 worth of silver bars that were seized last November in a search of a northern county property for a murder victim. Investigators searched 140 acres on North Wheeling Avenue after an informant tip about the former owner killing someone and burying the body on his land. The owner, now deceased, ran a marijuana distribution operation and police say he converted his profits to coins in an attempt to conceal his illegal activities.
