Legionnaires’ bacteria found at IU Health BMH

Legionnaires’ diseases surfaced at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital last week. The bacteria was found in the water is being tested, the results expected within two weeks. The hospital shut down the water system yesterday for eight hours and treated the water and implemented other precautions. Two years ago, two patients died who tested positive for Legionnaires’ disease. People with weakened immune systems are vulnerable to the bacteria.
