A new fare goes in effect today. All students boarding a MITS bus in the downtown area and at the MITS Transfer Station will be required to pay $.50 from 3:15 pm to 4:30 pm. There have been a few incidents downtown after school in the past. School officials say the move will help curb loitering at the downtown station.
