Gang policies being finalized for Indiana schools

Gangs are a problem, and now the state is mandating schools have a policy. Schools in the state have started the process and by the end of the school year, all districts are expected to have a written policy for how to deal with criminal gangs in schools. The mandate was made in July 2013 requiring the Department of Education to work with other organizations like the Department of Child Services and the Criminal Justice Institute to set a policy to deal with gangs in schools. Each school in Delaware County aleady has a policy in place.
