Anderson must pay 11 employees fired by former Mayor

The 11 employees who sued the city of Anderson for violating their free speech after being fired by incoming Mayor Kevin Smith have won their case. The city will have to pay eight of the 11 employees a total of $740,000. Three of the them did have their rights violated but received no damages. They were all let go because they supported Smith’s opponent in 2011.
