Anderson businessman arrested for theft and fraud

An Anderson businessman was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly trying to transfer properties owned by his 80-something father without his permission. Ben Jewell Jr. is facing six forgery and felony theft charges. The transfer occured in 2012 and just came to light after an insurance issue. Jewell has hired an attorney to iron out what he’s calling a personal family matter. His dad owns Tommy J’s Pizza, and the Tommy J’s Pizza Cafe at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino.
