Man pleads guilty to littering in animal cruelty case plea deal

A man who lived in a North Granville Avenue storefront with hundreds of mice, plus an alligator, pythons, guinea pigs, hamsters, turtles, rats, lizards, birds and more had been charged with animal cruelty. The 52-year-old man, Daniel Garonzik, says he wanted to build a wholesale mice-selling business. In a plea deal with the prosecutor, Garonzik pleaded guilty to littering, fined a dollar plus court costs and the cruelty to animals charge was dismissed. The animals were seized dring an August 2014 raid.
