Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, the leader of the Supreme Court’s conservative bloc and a leading force in American life for three decades, was found dead at a Texas ranch Saturday morning. Congresswoman Susan W. Brooks calls Justice Scalia “a brilliant jurist and legal mind whose three decades of service on the Supreme Court have left an enduring legacy for our country. U.S. Senator Dan Coats says Scalia’s, “unwavering commitment to the Constitution is the model by which all Supreme Court justices should be measured.” Scalia’s death is kicking off a fierce battle over the future of the high court.
